JUNEAU, Alaska (KTUU) - A Valley republican has been removed from the House Ethics committee after allegedly disclosing a confidential complaint to a member of the public.

The House voted 31-6 to remove Rep. David Eastman, R-Wasilla, from the committee after a panel found earlier this month that he likely violated an ethics law by disclosing the existence of a complaint that was considered confidential.

House members then voted 37-0 to give his seat on the committee to Rep. Colleen Sullivan-Leonard, R- Wasilla.
