'We have three guardian angels,'-- a family talks about their loss after a house fire kills three

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - On Friday morning Amy Miller, 31, and her two young children, 6-year-old Isaiah Miller and 4-year-old Lily Miller were unable to escape their home and died during a house fire.

Miller's mother, Cil Von Mergl-Grote, said that Amy was a bright light to everyone she met and that she was like a mother to countless others.

"She was a very strong mother, she loved those babies and those babies loved her," said Mergl-Grote.

Jerry Reed, Amy's brother said a planned vigil is an opportunity for the community to come together and support one another during this tragic time.

"People making donation coming by bringing food for the family and getting to meet them and saying Amy made a big impact on their life and they are impacting us now," Reed said.

Thursday, March 1st a candlelight vigil will be held at Fairview Elementary School at 7:30 p.m.

The funeral is planned for Saturday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Christian Community Church.

The family said they are collecting funds to help with funeral expenses. Click here to donate to the Miller family.
