Yukon Quest draws largest field since 2009

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU) - Twenty-eight mushers round out the field for the 2018 Yukon quest, making it the largest field for the race since 2009.

Making up the field are 15 veterans and 13 rookies, including some memorable names like reigning champion Matt Hall and former champions Allen Moore and Hugh Neff.

The field also includes other mushers from the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden.

Late entries for the race will be accepted until Jan. 5, 2018.

The Yukon Quest begins in Fairbanks on Feb. 3, 2018.
