ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The Hobey Baker award is to hockey what the Heisman is to college football.
Each year it is given to the top collegiate hockey player in the country, and UAA's own Olivier Mantha is up for the award, and fans have a say.
"For us to have a Hobey Baker candidate for the first time in a while, that's special," said Seawolves' head coach Matt Thomas.
"We need our fans to go out and vote him in. You can vote daily. Go and put a feather in his cap and it helps our program if we can get him recognized at that level," Thomas continued.
Mantha has a 90 percent save percentage in his senior season. He's also racked up 800 saves this season, and 3,303 in his career at UAA.
