Ellendale AppleFest on Saturday will include a parade, a comedian, a pie-eating contest, a pet show and a rib cookoff.
The parade begins at 10 a.m., shortly after the kiddie parade at 9:45 a.m.
Inflatable games run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. An all-day pass costs $5.
Little Miss and Mr. Ellendale will be named at 11:30 a.m.
The apple pie auction begins at noon, followed by the pie-eating contest at 12:15 p.m. Apple pies are needed for the apple pie auction. Prizes of $25 and $15 will be given to participants. All apple pies must be brought to the Opera House by 9 a.m. Saturday. For more information, call 701-349-4329.
Bingo will be played at 12:30 p.m. Afternoon activities include a pet show at 1:30 p.m. and pedal pull at 2:30 p.m.
Comedian Scott Novotny, who lives in New Richmond, Wis., will perform at 4:30 p.m.
The day concludes with a ribfest rib cookoff and evening meal at 5:45 p.m.
"A Star Spangled Celebration” is the theme of the 13th annual AppleFest.
An art exhibit will open at the Opera House Friday. Hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. The exhibit continues Sept. 28-30.
