Polka, kuchen, knoephla and sauerkraut are among the attractions at Saturday's German Food Festival and 125th fundraiser at the American Legion in Ashley, N.D.
The day begins with “fun and kuchen” at 3:30 p.m. That event includes skits by local actors, a “Decades of Denim” style show and a pickle contest. To compete in the pickle contest, just bring a jar of pickles by 4 p.m.
Homemade knoephla with sauerkraut, brats and honey cookies will be served at 5:30 p.m.
A polka jamboree runs from 7 to 10 p.m., featuring music by Randy Becker and musical friends.
A 125th anniversary mug and a drink to go in it are included with the price of admission.
Tickets for the entire event are $15 or free to kids 10 and younger.
Tickets for the dance only, which will be available after 7 p.m., are $8.
