Come masked or not, it doesn't matter — money for the Masquerade Ball with a Cotton Club Twist Friday, Oct. 26, will benefit the Doleman Black Heritage Museum. The event will feature live music by The Darrell Jackson Project, unveiling of the new Doleman Black Heritage Museum collection exhibit, raffles. Eight mountaintop churches will host a community harvest celebration Sunday, Oct. 28, with music and food at Fort Ritchie Community Center. Pastors of eight mountaintop churches in Cascade and Sabillasville, Md., and Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., will host a community harvest celebration. Bluegrass music, a showcase of pies, lemonade and apple cider. 2 to 4 p.m. Fort Ritchie Community Center, 14421 Lake Royer Drive, Cascade. Free. Bring non-perishable food or paper products for the food bank.
Hauntingly Halloween fun
