It is night 22. We just experienced one of the craziest tribal councils in Survivor history. Lisa’s plan to blindside Malcolm failed. But, it helped Mike stay in the game. Skupin is feeling pretty good. The vote was between Pete and Jeff. They are the two loud piece players who do not want a returning player to win. So with Jeff gone, he only has to worry about Pete.

Abi wonders who voted for her. She accuses Skupin before Penner comes forward. He had no idea about plan B. Well, maybe plan T at that point. Penner asks Carter about the vote because he is confused. Penner finally understands that if he voted with Kalabaw then it would be a 5-5 vote anyway.

Malcolm comforts Lisa telling her that it is all of part of the game. She is surprised by his mercy and compassion on her. Lisa thinks this game is bigger than her.

The next day, Penner talks with Lisa to build a relationship. There are 5 members of Tangdang that make up the majority. If they stick together then they will pick off Penner next.  He is trying to find a crack in the alliance with Lisa. Penner plays the therapist in Lisa’s child star life. Lisa expresses her “likability” comes from a broken place in which she has been that role since she was young. Her whole life has been on public perception.

Reward Challenge

It is time to get muddy. Split into two teams, castaways will crawl under muddy water then dig for a bag with balls in it. Once all 4 bags are collected, they can then shoot the 12 balls into the net for the win. The reward is a trip to a local village to deliver school supplies and eat a feast.

Skupin, Lisa, Artis, and Pete (yellow) vs. (red) Penner, Denise, Carter, and Malcolm

This is school yard pick and Abi wasn’t picked, she cannot win the reward.

We start off with Skupin vs Penner in the first round. Skupin takes the lead while Penner digs up all 4 bags. This proved to be a smart strategy as his team took an intense lead in the challenge. This saved time because their team did not re-dig where the bag was already at.

By the time Yellow Team got to the ball throwing section, Red team already has 10 out of 12 balls in. The winner is the Red Team - Penner, Denise, Carter, and Malcolm.

At the reward village, the red team met the natives. It is a cheery moment for all. Jonathan tells the children that in America is name is “normal” and the kids repeat “normal” like that is his name. How adorable can they be? The winners describe the event as the happiest community. Malcolm remembers how enjoyable it is to work with kids. He spent a year in Micronesia teaching elementary school.

Once the food comes, the game talks commence. They need to get Lisa and/or Skupin on board with them. They see the crack in Tangdang alliance and they need to hop on this opportunity.

Pete sees the crack as well. He wants to make Lisa feel comfortable in the tribe. Abi is not making this easy. She burns Lisa again by calling her gullible and naïve. She is a loose cannon and thinks she knows so much about the game. Artis even said that about Abi.. he talks! Abi reassures the 5 to be strong.

Lisa wanted some time to solidify the Tangdang 5. But, Abi is uncontrollable and has a mouth without a filter. The flip to Kalabaw looks more appealing but she doesn’t want to appear like a flipper. Lisa is unsure of her next move and her loyalty.

Immunity Challenge

This challenge tests the players balance. They have to balance balls on an oversized paddle to place 6 balls onto their spots. This challenge has a learning curve that many did not grasp. Skupin is the first to land a ball in its spot. The ball kept rolling for him as he won immunity. The only one to come close to him was Peter.

With Mike’s win, Penner knows his days are numbered. Abi considers Penner the bigger threat but see Skupin as annoying. She even hit him on the head with a coconut, not on purpose.

Denise has her alliance and strategizes with Carter and Malcolm on the possibility of Abi’s idol. Is she Selfish (Editor: Yes)? Will she pass it off to another player? They decide to play safe by voting for Artis because she will never give the idol to him.

Penner is playing the puppeteer game again on Lisa. He asks what is the story? Who is the good/ bad guys? Who is the underdog? He is basically trying to get Lisa to stop working with the dark side and join the Jedis.

Penner then goes to Skupin to try to get him to flip. Skupin wants to play the game with Lisa. He wants to be on the same side as her.

Both of them talk about their loyalty to the tribe. Should they stay loyal to a tribe that is not loyal to them? Lisa asks is she stays with Tangdang then is she gullible and naïve as Abi say?

Tribal Council

Jeff asks if there were a fallout after last Tribal. Lisa responds that her fallout was internal and was welcomed with open arms. Lisa experienced more grace from the people she was against than with Abi. The reason – it comes down to maturity.

Abi has the ‘stank face’ on.

Mike appreciated and loved Lisa’s move. Lisa realizes that her life is bigger than this game and this game is bigger than her.  She is giving the best pre-final jury speech. She is definitely prepping the jury in giving her the million dollars.

Artis says that Tangdang will go down as one of the most powerful tribe in history. But, he realizes that he is still vulnerable to blindsides.

With that said, a blindside did happen… and it was to Artis. His torched is snuffed by a vote of 5-4. Someone from his alliance flipped, but who? Skupin or Lisa?

Pete: Penner

Abi: Penner

Lisa: Penner

Artis: Penner

Penner: Artis

Denise: Artis

Carter: Artis

Malcolm: Artis

Skupin: ARTIS!!

Mike screwed Lisa over by not telling her that he is voting out Artis. However, it did help Lisa by not getting blood on her hands. She can always say that she flipped because her core alliance flipped. This game is far from over and there is no clear majority in the game.
