The episode starts differently. James, the rocker, video chats with his wife. It is about his father. James’ wife told him that his father is not in good shape. He has stage 4 cancer and it seems like he won’t get better. The family urges the men to continue on the race.

Teams stay in Bangladesh for this leg. Teams travel to Jatrabari market to look for a man with a clue. James and Abba have a commanding lead over the rest of the pack. Last leg, they used an express pass and it appears that they are ahead of the next team by hours.

James and Abba find the market and the man. They now have to travel to Ferry Ghat road to search for the next clue.

Roadblock!

One team member has to build a Bangladesh scale. After approval, they have to balance 4 stones with X amount of wood for equilibrium. The scale is like a tee-pee with 3 large bamboo rods as the structure.

Abba hurt his knees therefore James is completing this roadblock.

The rest of the teams start to leave at the pit stop. Abbie and Ryan mention they want the most wins in a race. They want to beat Rachel and Dave’s record from last season of 8 top leg finishes in one season.

The twins from Sri Lanka are right behind Abbie and Ryan. The girls make a chant, “beat the goras.” Goras means ‘white people’ in their native language. They are not racist but being silly.

Abba and James complete the roadblock before any other team gets there.

Detour!

Straw dogs or Bamboo jungle.

In straw dogs, teams make an eco-friendly jute. They have to untangle the jute by throwing it onto a rack of long pointy nails. It’s like a gigantic hair brush. After they untangle the jute, teams have to lay down the jute neatly. Once done, teams carry one bundle of jute to the mill and then they receive the next clue.

In bamboo jungle, teams have to find 40 poles of bamboo and carry it, by bicycle, to a construction site down town.

The rockers chose bamboo jungle. The guys seem to not have too much difficulty with his challenge considering Abba’s bummed knee.

Back at the roadblock, Natalie is “Twinee” her sister on. Ryan tells her it’s annoying so Natalie recruits a local boy to join in on her chants. The chants work because the Sri Lankans finish the roadblock before Abbie and Ryan. Abbie has to start over because her scale is too low to the ground.

Josh and Brent have a hard time finding a taxi to their first clue. This allows all the other teams to catch up to them. They are now in last place.

James and Abba finish the detour and they receive a clue to the pit stop. It is a picture of the Lok Shripira Temple. With the help of the taxi driver and locals, the rockers finish first, again.

Team Twins chose bamboo while Abbie and Ryan chose the Jute. The girls have an interesting time with the bamboo. Yes, it’s awkward to carry, slightly heavy, and extremely long. So you expect two girls to not fare well… well not these girls. They DID smack locals in the face with bamboo but it’s not their fault. Right??? At least they can finish the challenge without bickering or worst, crying!

Abbie and Ryan breeze through the jute process and land themselves the second spot at the pit stop. Abbie and Cry-baby have a moment when they realize they are not in first place. Cry-baby Ryan really wanted the first place to make a name for their team. First of all, just win the race; don’t worry about trying to win every leg. This is how you paint a target on your back. The next time there is a double U-turn you better believe this team will be targeted. Watch your backs Abbie and Ryan.

At the roadblock, Brent cannot advance to the balance part. He built the scale incorrectly. He has no idea how to fix it. The other teams have left the goat farmers in the dust. They are on the verge of a breakdown.

Another breakdown occurs with team Chippendale's. As they are doing the bamboo detour they leave 3 vital poles behind and have to travel back just to pick them up. Wasted time and wasted energy hurts this team. Lucky for them, the goat farmers are still behind.

Josh and Brent are the last team to arrive. Luckily, this is a non-elimination round. This means that they have to complete a ‘speed bump’ challenge on the next leg of the race.

My Thoughts:

I love the twins. I hate Abbie and Ryan; I hope they lose so bad. Yes, they are the strongest team on the race right now. But, they are direct competition with my Sri Lankans and I need for that to end. I want the twins and Texans in the final 3.

I predict Rob and Kelley and Josh and Brent to be the next two teams to go. James and Abba might slip into the final 3; but it will be a dog fight to the finish line. I am surprised that the Texans are not at the top of the pack. They are coasting in the middle for a while now. It is time to step up their game.

I laughed so hard when Chippendale's James tripped at the Pit Stop in front of Phil. That is the DVR moment of the night!
