Alaskan Artist Scott Clendaniel unveiled his "Homage to Homebrew", a collection of beer-inspired oil paintings, at The Midnight Sun Brewing Company in South Anchorage Friday.
A lifelong Alaskan, Clendaniel said he has shown this art collection at Midnight Sun for three years. Each show has coincided with Alaska Beer Week, a celebration of brewers which runs January 11th through the 20th.
Clendaniel is also a graphic designer and substitute teacher.Midnight Sun Brewing Company will have some of their 3,000th batch, dubbed "Triple M", on tap for the festivities beginning on Saturday the 12th.
There are multiple events scheduled for Alaska Beer Week involving local micro-breweries and home-brewers alike. The crux of the celebration will be the Great Alaskan Beer and Barley Wine Festival at the Egan Center January 18th and 19th.
