People from all around the world converge in Alaska this time of year with a lofty plan -- to make it to the top of Denali.
For most of them, the view from the tallest peak in North America is thrill enough.
But Daniel Hughes, an adventure-seeker who just arrived in Anchorage from London, has a different goal in mind.
“The whole idea is to raise money for a very good cause and help lots of people,” he said during an interview, Friday.
He's part of an effort called Comic Relief, a large charity organization in the United Kingdom, which collects money to combat poverty in developing countries.
Hughes is one of the more extreme supporters of the campaign. He travels to the ends of the world in search of a challenge and then takes pictures of himself wearing a goofy-looking red rubber nose once he’s reached his goal.
So far he’s made it to the summits of Mont Blanc in France and Aconcagua in Argentina.
Denali is next. Hughes travels to Talkeetna to start his journey this weekend.
“This very definitely will be my biggest challenge,” he said.
