ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
Congregation Beth Sholom hosted the fifth "Mitzvah Mall" Sunday afternoon, entry was free.
The annual event was a place where shoppers could make donations to local non-profits and charities in honor of the person they were buying a gift for.
"Mitzvah" is the commandment, "to do a good deed" in Hebrew.
Shoppers at the Mitzvah Mall found this alternative way of giving gifts to be a great concept. Organizers of the event say the gifts purchased are great examples of gifts that keep on giving.
