The hottest movie now playing in theaters is "Bridesmaids." The R-rated comedy stars Kristen Wiig and Saturday Night Live pal Maya Rudolph.
"Bridesmaids" is both funny and wrong. It is NOT a chick flick.
If you liked "The Hangover" and "Knocked Up," "Bridesmaids" will have you rolling on the floor.

Maya Rudolph is bride-to-be Lillian, and co-writer Kristen Wiig is best friend and maid-of-honor-to-be Annie.
Most comedies with SNL characters wind up being a 90-minute skit that can't sustain from start to finish. "Bridesmaids" does it differently with a lot of short skits in different scenes, which keeps the film fresh and lends it longevity.
Annie, Wiig's character, has issues. She only seems to be with guys that treat her like garbage, and pretends to like it that way. Things get really rough for her when she meets a new friend of Lillian. It's Helen, who tries to take over the whole wedding, and thus you have the movie's ongoing cat fight. Rose Byrne plays the other cat.
Wiig's character picks up half the film's laughs. The ladies fly to Vegas and Annie, who has flight fright, takes some anxiety pills from Helen, and chases them with a glass of scotch....straight.
The other one bringing roaring laughter is Megan, played by "Mike & Molly"'s Melissa McCarthy. Megan will have you screaming.
This is not "Steel Magnolias" or anything like that. Funny but wrong.
