People with a sweet tooth already know, but for the rest of us, the start of March also means the Girl Scouts will be selling its cookies.
Alaskans can now buy cookies until March 30th. For the first time since 1999, the cookie boxes have a new design.
In Alaska, more than 3,000 girls sell cookies and learn important lessons about setting goals, making decisions, managing money, people skills, and business ethics.
Scouts also earn money for camp, travel and community service projects.
This year’s flavors include Thin Mints, Samoas, Trefoils (shortbread), Tagalongs (peanut butter patties), Do-Si-Dos® (peanut butter sandwich), Savannah Smiles, Dulce de Leche and Thank U Berry.
Girl Scouts sometimes sell door-to-door, or many set up stands at Carrs and Fred Meyer locations.
Girl Scouts of Alaska serves nearly 6,000 girls from Bethel to Ketchikan.
