ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- It was perfect weather for a street fair Saturday, and that's what happened in Mountain View.

Full meals were available for 50 cents -- there were hamburgers, hotdogs, all kinds of booths, and, of course, lots of entertainment, including break dancing.

All the activities brought out lots of folks.

"I think 1,000 people easily will have come through," said Jewel Jones with the Anchorage Community Land Trust. "And we're really thrilled. We weren't sure about the weather, this is our first annual street fair so we know next year it's going to be bigger and better, just continue to develop."

Organizers say the fair was a way to say thank you for all the hard work that everyone's doing in the community.
