ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Attorney General is pushing for a bigger refund from Fairbanks utilities.

The Regulatory Commission of Alaska ordered Fairbanks sewer and water utilities to refund customers the difference between interim rates and final approved rates for the last two years.

Golden Heart and College utilities estimate that will increase refunds by more than $1 million dollars, to $4.3 million total.

A new refund plan is due Monday.

If the RCA ruling stands, ratepayers could receive more than $100 each, but no refunds will be issued until the appeals process is complete.
