JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The state Chamber of Commerce is supporting a 13-mile extension of the road to the Kensington Mine.
Juneau Chamber CEO Cathie Roemmich says the state already has funding in place to construct that portion of the Glacier Highway.
But Ruben Yost, the Juneau Access Project Manager for State DOT, says that corridor is blocked right now by court litigation.
He says what's supported by the chamber organizations would require a new project.
The state appealed the Anchorage Federal District Court decision to the Ninth Circuit.
