ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce gave business people a chance to pick up some tips from an apprentice this morning.
Bill Rancic, who Donald Trump hired in 2004 at the end of the first season of the Apprentice, offered advice to potential entrepreneurs.
He said his business experience began at age 10 when his grandmother paid him to make pancakes. He went on to create a successful cigar business.
After Trump hired him, Rancic said it was a little bizarre working for The Donald.
"The first week on the job I got a call from Donald Trump on my cell phone, that in itself for the first time is a little bizarre -- Trump calling you on your cell phone. He called me up and he said, 'Bill I need you to do me a favor.' I said ‘of course, whatever you need Mr. Trump.' He said ‘I need you to fly with me to Quito, Ecuador because I want you to be a judge in the Miss Universe.' I said ‘twist my arm,'" Rancic said.
Rancic is now on the speaking circuit and has written two books.
