JUNEAU, Alaska—
A winter celebration is set to be held at Eaglecrest Ski Area on Saturday.
KINY says there will be live music from a local band, Tramwreck. There also will be bonfires, extended hours for skiing and dining, and a light show.
The light show will feature a torchlight parade on the Muskeg trail and a fireworks display.
Local businesses are sponsoring the event, which is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m. Saturday.
Eaglecrest will be offering guests wearing neon colors discounts on lift ticket Saturday. Those with season passes who wear neon will receive a discount for the Eaglecrest Grill.
The winter celebration has been held at Eaglecrest since it first began when the Olympic Torch Relay passed through Juneau in January 2002.
