In this week's Day Trippin', Channel 2's Ashton Goodell and photographer Jessica Hoffman get blown away by the kite surfers in Homer. Nobody can learn kite surfing in a day. All kiters begin by learning how to fly a small kite. It usually take three or more lessons before a person is ready to get out on the water. This winter you can also try kiteboarding, it's like kite surfing but with snow. Kiteboarding doesn't take nearly as much instruction, by the end of your first lesson you'll likely be flying over snow hills. For more information, visit Alaska Kite Adventures at its website. If you'd like to try kiting with our instructor Tom Fredricks, contact him at Alaska Kite Adventures at (907) 947-4775 or alaskakiteadventures@gmail.com. Contact Ashton Goodell at agoodell@ktuu.com
