Although going to college across the country may seem glamorous, be realistic when decided where to go to school. Flights are canceled and delayed all the time, and being stuck at an airport thousands of miles away from home during the holidays will not be fun.
Another thing to consider is whether you can afford to live on your own after graduation. If all your internships and job-networking takes place hundreds of miles away from your post-graduation home, you may be doing yourself a disservice. This becomes increasingly important as you get further into your college career.
