Free flu shots are available at the Frontier Building on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from the Department of Health and Social Services.

The vaccines are part of the national influenza vaccination week from December 4-10.

“Alaska’s flu season usually peaks after January, so it’s still an excellent time to take advantage of this free vaccine,” said Dr. Joe McLaughlin, chief of the Alaska Section of Epidemiology, Department of Health and Social Services.

The state says about 7,000 doses are still available of the 20,000 it received.

The Frontier Building is located at the intersection of W 36th Avenue and A Street in midtown.
