Veggie Patch Falafel Recall (Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation / December 4, 2012) |
Veggie Patch has issued a recall for its 9-ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked falafel because of possible listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The products being recalled have a UPC code of “6-10129-06619-3” with a use-by date of “Jan/15/2013,” and were sold nationwide last month.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially deadly disease, according to Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation.
Some of the symptoms include high fever, severe headache, and nausea, and there have been no reported illnesses in Alaska or elsewhere.
