( STEPHEN DUNN, Hartford Courant / March 15, 2011 ) Dr. Steven Wolf, chairman/Director of St. Francis Emergency Medicine, looks at the new high-tech operating room lights inside one of the two large, tranuma rooms in the new St. Francis Emergency Department. The exisitng ER has 48 beds and was originally built for 30,000 visits a year. They now see 73,000 patients a year. The new Emergency Department will be opening at St. Francis next month which will be state-of-the-art and have 70 beds and a capacity to see 90-100,000 patients per year. |
