New Haven Open At Yale

Qualifying play took place Friday at the New Haven Open at Yale at the Connecticut Tennis Center in New Haven. During a break in the action of the Melanie Oudin vs. Eva Birnerova match, in which Birnerova eventually retired due to heat illness, fans used the opportunity to look over the back wall of the bleachers to watch another match.
