The Arab Spring
The Arab Spring technically began in Tunisia December 2010, but it was in 2011 that the movement reached full steam. Egyptians crowded Tahrir Square and streets across the country, ousting dictator Hosni Mubarak. Protests led to major changes across the Middle East and North Africa and uprising in Libya, where Western intervention led to the overthrow of Muammar Gaddaf's regime and Syria where violence continues.
