Jennifer Lawrence is not a waif. But to say that the actress didn't look hungry enough to star in "The Hunger Games" is not only insulting, it's ridiculous. She may not look like some of her fellow Hollywood stick figures, but she's still absolutely thin. Yet, some movie critics complained that the actress had too many womanly curves (or too much baby fat, depending on whose perspective you read) to play the part of Katniss Everdeen. The message to women: If you're not starving, you're not good enough.
Fortunately, Lawrence has made it a point to let fans know she'd never diet for a role. "I don't want little girls to be like, 'Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I'm going to skip dinner,' " Lawrence told Elle magazine. "That's something I was really conscious of during training.... I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong, not thin and underfed."
