The Wreaths Across America project at the Cedar Hill Memorial Park was started by Carol Resh in honor of her son Mark, a Northern Lehigh Graduate and Eagle Scout, who was killed in Iraq in 2007. The event brought out a large group of "Gold Star Mothers" (mothers who have lost children in service to our country) and Included the "Patriot Guard Riders" (motorcyclists that honor fallen soldiers at funeral services across the country) as well as local Boy and Girl scout troops and relatives of servicemen to lay wreaths on the graves of those who have served. This event provided 2200 wreaths that were laid on the graves of veterans at the cemetery in remembrance of their sacrifice. |
