( DOUGLAS KILPATRICK / SPECIAL TO THE MORNING CALL / February 18, 2013 ) Local - Allentown - Jane Ervin, CEO/President of CSC talks to participants at luncheon at Community Services for Children during the Annual Meeting. CSC, the local group that runs the Head Start Programs held its annual meeting that highlighted research results from the first 28 months of the SafeStart for Fragile Children program. The program for infants and toddlers affected by parental drug and alcohol abuse offers therapeutic care for the infants, in an effort to help with developmental difficulties and improve the emotional health of the children and their relationships with their parents. The goal is to remediate a lifetime of possible future problems and keep children with their parents, consequently saving the public assistance system a lot of money long term. |
