It's called Black Friday, but Aberdeen shopping begins tonight with at least six local stores open all night. Here's what you can expect, what the stores think are their hottest items and other helpful info to make your shopping experience pain-free.
WAL-MART

OPEN: 24 hours; sales begin 8 p.m. tonight
HOTTEST ITEM: Apple iPad2 16GB with Wi-Fi, $399 and includes a $75 Wal-Mart gift card.
WHY WAIT IN THIS LINE? It's open 24 hours, so you don't have to wait in line outside. But certain deals will only be available at certain times.
WHAT ELSE: It has a complete grocery store, and a massive selection of gift options.
BIG KMART

WHY WAIT IN THIS LINE: While big crowds are at Wal-Mart and Target, find essentials at Kmart, with many comparable deals on electronics.
WHAT ELSE: A wide variety of clothing; slightly smaller than other department stores for easier navigation.

WHY WAIT IN THIS LINE? The only big box store on the northwest side of town, so you can dodge the huge east-side crowds by the mall.
