The Aberdeen City Council will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. MondayOct. 29 in the courtroom on the third floor of the Municipal Building, 123 S. Lincoln St.
Agenda items include:
- Proclamation: Veterans of Foreign Wars, sale of Buddy Poppies from Nov. 7-12, symbols of appreciation for sacrifices of our honored dead.
- Applications for alcoholic beverage licenses: Set hearing date of Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. for: 1. Transfer of retail on-sale liquor license from Thomas Linngren DBA 337 N. Roosevelt St. (inactive status) to Emerald Pub LLC DBA Emerald Pub, 23 Sixth Ave. S.W. (inactive status). 2. Transfer of retail on-off sale malt beverage license with video lottery from G&T Gaming Inc. DBA G&T Gaming Inc., 121 N. Roosevelt St. (inactive status) to G&T Gaming Inc. DBA Aberdeen Pit Stop, Inc., 2323 Eighth Ave. N.E.
- Advertisement for bids: Set bid date of Nov. 13 at 2 p.m.: 1. One new refuse collection unit for Public Works Department Solid Waste Division. 2. One new 2013 single axle truck cab/chassis, box and hoist, Public Works Department Utility Division. 3. One 2013 tandem truck/box and hoist, Public Works Department Street Division
- Rezoning: Possible second reading and final adoption of Ordinance No. 12-10-01 amending Ordinance No. 1164 to rezone certain described property from Section 704 (R-2)/Section 711 (R-4) and Section 704 (R-2) to Section 704 (R-2)/Section 711 (R-4) Lot 6, Block 2, Lakeview First Replat in the NE 1/4 of Section 10, T123N, R64W of the 5th P.M., Aberdeen.
- Intake: Possible second reading and final adoption of Ordinance No. 12-10-05, providing for the issuance of revenue bonds for the water treatment plant intake project, approving the form of the loan agreement, pledging project revenues, and providing for the rate surcharge.
- Cable: Possible first reading of Ordinance No. 12-10-06, renewing Northern Valley Communications’ cable TV franchise
- Parking: Possible approval of Resolution No. 12-10-05R, levying an annual special assessment for parking facilities.
- Gauging: Possible approval and authorize the city manager to sign the joint funding agreement with U.S. Geological Survey in the amount of $18,995 for operation and maintenance of stream gauging stations.
- Sanitary sewer pipe lining project: Possible approval to award the bid to A-Tech Sewer of Watertown for $51,420 for lining the asbestos cement pipe on 10th Avenue Southeast and authorize the city manager and finance officer to sign all necessary documents after approval by the city attorney.
- Library: drain tile (Project Bldg-2012-1), 1. Change Order No. 2, changes to project, B&B Contracting, a decrease in the amount of $6,769.07. 2. Pay Estimate No. 4 (final), work completed, B&B Contracting $21,337.36, possible approval and authorize the city manager to sign Change Order No. 2, a decrease in contract amount of $6,769.07, and Pay Estimate No. 4 (final) in the amount of $21,337.36 to B&B Contracting for work on the library drain tile project.
- Continued from previous meeting: Possible approval of Resolution No. 12-10-04R creating Tax Incremental Financing District No. 17 for Roosevelt and Washington projects.
- Asbestos: Possible approval and authorize the city manager to sign Pay Estimate No. 1 (final) for $24,034 to Gary Snow and Associates for asbestos abatement at the former Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
