William Deng, a graduate student at Northern State University, will speak about his journey from South Sudan.

The event will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Krikac Auditorium and is free to the public.

When Deng was 14, he left his home and family in South Sudan to escape civil war and seek an education. Deng, now 26, will discuss his experiences walking through the jungle, how he came to the United States and the foundation he started to give back, according to a news release.
