Reka Drive Condo Fire (Rick Schleyer / January 29, 2013) |
A fire at a Russian Jack condominium complex Tuesday morning is under control with no injuries, according to the Anchorage Fire Department.
AFD dispatchers say 20 units were sent to the fire, on the 3900 block of Reka Drive, at 10:33 a.m. It was quickly fought back, with the blaze declared under control at 10:55 a.m. and only a few units remaining on scene for cleanup work as of 11:45 a.m.
Firefighters at the scene say the fire was contained to a single bedroom of one unit, with a few animals rescued. No other units at the complex were affected by the blaze.
APD spokesperson Dani Myren says officers had diverted traffic in the area at Reka's intersections with Bragaw Street and Tamara Circle, but those diversions have since ended.
