Former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman says Alaska's U.S. Senate race is over and Republican candidate Joe Miller should “move on.” Coleman, who lost his 2008 re-election bid after a prolonged recount, told C-SPAN there's not much to be gained by the process.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski declared victory in Alaska’s race after a write-in count showed her with a lead of more than 10,000 votes, a total which includes 8,000 ballots contested by the Miller campaign. Miller is also challenging the outcome in court.

“You have to have some finality to these things. It should be time to move on,” Coleman told C-SPAN.

Coleman fought the Minnesota election decision for seven months before Democrat Al Franken was declared the winner.

C-SPAN’s interview with Coleman is set to air Sunday.
