The state plans to seek nearly $16,000 in legal fees from U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller's legal team over his lawsuit against the Division of Elections.

The Department of Law says its attorney fees related to Miller's challenge in state superior court totaled more than $79,000 and that it is allowed to recover 20 percent of the fees.

The state Supreme Court last week refused to overturn election results favoring Sen. Lisa Murkowski and a federal judge refused to second-guess the high court Tuesday, dismissing Miller's suit in federal court.
