JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) -
A House panel has advanced what's known as a "stand your ground" bill.
HB24 would expand people's right to use deadly force as a means of self-defense. Rep. Mark Neuman has tried to pass the bill multiple times in recent years without success.
The committee also gave the public a chance to weigh in on HB69. That bill, by House Speaker Mike Chenault, would make it a felony for a federal official or agent to try to enforce any new restrictions on gun ownership.
Chenault initially proposed making it a misdemeanor, but the latest version of his bill strengthens that penalty. The bill has garnered broad support from House Republicans.
On Friday, five separate pieces of legislation dealing with state-federal relationships were on the Legislature's agenda.

Bob normally would agree with you however the framers of the constitution devleoped a process as to where those fundamental rights could be altered at ny time by allowing apiece of legislation to pass both houses 66 percent and then ratified by a majority of the states those that want something repealed have a larger task requirng 75 per cent of the state legislatures concurrence

Why would I need anyone's permission to save a life?

We do not need the government (State or Federal) to take away, or add anything. If someone threatens your life, then you have a Constitutional right to defend yourself. When the bad guys have assault weapons, then everyone will have them. End of discussion. Depose anyone who believes this not to be true.
