Randy Ruedrich, the outgoing chair of the Alaska Republican Party, is urging the party faithful to stay away from Saturday's continuation of the state convention amid fears of a power grab by supporters of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul.

Paul supporter Evan Cutler says they're not interested in trying to get more delegates for Paul but want to resolve unsettled state business, like consideration of party platform updates and a change that would speed transition to new leadership.

A quorum is needed to conduct business during Saturday's meeting in Anchorage, but there's disagreement between Paul supporters and Ruedrich about what that number is or even about what's on the agenda.

Ruedrich has encouraged GOP members to donate whatever costs they would have incurred to attend to a GOP candidate.
