An Alaska based TV reality show called “Married to the Army: Alaska” has been picked up by the Oprah Winfrey Network as a prime-time series.

The OWN announced its programming selections on Thursday and said the new shows are relevant and will add to its mix of programming.

“Married to the Army: Alaska” will depict the “emotional roller coaster of homecomings – all set against the backdrop of the rugged, demanding and extreme conditions of the last frontier."

The show was cast in November and produced by 44 Blue Productions.

An exact air date has yet to be released, but the OWN replied via email that the show could premiere sometime this summer.
