Army Alaska identified the three Fort Wainwright-based Stryker Brigade soldiers killed over the weekend in Afghanistan.

The Army says Spc. Bradley Louis Melton, Pvt. Cheizray Pressley and Pvt. Lamarol Jerome Tucker, all combat engineers with the 73rd Engineer Company, were killed during an IED attack Monday in Spin Ghbarga, Zabul Province, Afghanistan.

The soldiers were members of the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

Melton, 29, was from Rolla, Mo. He joined the Army in 2000 and came to Fort Wainwright in January 2011.

Pressley, 21, of North Charleston, S.C., joined the Army in September 2010, and also arrived in Alaska in January.

Tucker, 26, of Gainesville, Fla., joined the Army in 2009 and came to Fort Wainwright in April of that year.

All three soldiers previously served at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

The Strykers began deploying to Afghanistan in mid-April for a one-year tour.

Next of kin for the three men have been identified.
