ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
An airman assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson who was killed Wednesday in Afghanistan has been identified by his family.
Maj. David Brodeur, who was assigned to the 11th Air Force, was one of nine American casualties of an attack by an Afghan air force officer at the airport in Kabul, the nation's capital. Brodeur had been deployed as an advisor to the Afghan Command and Control Center under NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan since February, according to his spouse Susan Brodeur.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family has established a college fund for the Brodeur children. Community members who wish to donate are asked to contact the Air Warrior Courage Foundation and annotate "Maj. David Brodeur 529 College Fund."
