Lance Cpl. Jeremiah Kinchen, a 22-year-old native of Salcha, Alaska, was killed on April 4, 2005, when his vehicle hit a land mine.
Kinchen served with the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division based at Elmendorf Air Force Base. He was attached to a San Antonio, Texas, based Marine Corps unit at the time of his death, according to military officials.
