Pfc. Adare W. Cleveland

Pfc. Adare W. Cleveland, a 20-year-old Anchorage native, died Feb. 19, 2007, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in southern Baghdad.

Cleveland served as a gunner and dismount for Team Hellcat and was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team based in Fort Drum, NY.

Cleveland briefly attended the Family Partnership Charter School and West High School in Anchorage, according to the Anchorage School District, and is survived by his mother, Diane, who lives in Anchorage.
