A chance meeting with the new acting sergeant

Willard "Bill" Haas, 81, of South Whitehall Township taught German at Lehighton High School in 1940. A year later he was drafted into the Army and served as a medic with the 9th Infantry Division, which fought in eight campaigns, including the Normandy invasion of June 1944.
