An Anchor Point man allegedly used a 9mm semi-autmatic pistol and an AK-47 assault rifle in a kidnapping of two females in Anchor Point last week, according to Alaska State Troopers.
In a troopers dispatch posted Tuesday afternoon, 53-year-old Ilya Gherman was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault in the third degree, and misconduct involving weapons.
On Feb. 12, troopers responded to reports of a shooting just before 11:30 p.m. in Anchor Point.
Gherman fired eight rounds into the floor and wall near the females, and when he fell asleep, the females fled bare-footed.
A troopers’ investigation found that Gherman threatened to shoot the females if they tried to leave his residence with either the 9mm or AK-47.
Gherman was arraigned in Homer court last week and will have a preliminary hearing Friday, according to online court documents.

If only he'd been limited to a "Biden Special" double barreled shotgun and a "NY Special" six-shot revolver, there's no way this crime could have been committed...

I’m surprised KTUU didn't try to add any possibility that he might have been using armor piercing ammo or some other kind of dangerous weapons. (Sharpened spoons or forks for example)
