Anchorage and the rest of the country’s violent crime rate has decreased for the fifth straight year, according to the a new report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The FBI released its preliminary Uniform Crime Report on Monday and for most crime Anchorage had minor changes from 2010 to 2011.

For a city pushing nearly 300,000, the crime rates reported were:

Murder
2010: 13
2011: 12

Forcible rape
2010: 264
2011: 283

Robbery
2010: 454
2011: 465

Aggravated assault
2010: 1,701
2011: 1,628
