Anchorage police are seeking public help to find a 45-year-old woman who was last seen almost a week ago, the day before her Muldoon trailer was destroyed in a fire.

APD spokesperson Anita Shell says Susan Geraci was last seen by colleagues at the Ramada Inn on Tuesday, June 5 at about 4 p.m. She did not show up for work Wednesday at either the Ramada or her other job at the Lake Shore Motor Hotel. Geraci's boyfriend, who works on the North Slope, also hasn’t heard from her since last week.

A neighbor saw Geraci leave her trailer, in the Glencaren Trailer Court at 2221 Muldoon Rd., and drive away in her reddish-orange Hyundai Accent sedan with license plate GEE856 at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. The trailer burned at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday; it was unoccupied at the time, and nobody was injured in the fire.

According to Shell, APD considers the case suspicious because coworkers say Geraci hasn’t called in sick in five years, and has to be told to go home when she is sick. Friends told police she was depressed after having to put down two dogs in the last month.

Geraci stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call APD at 786-8900.

Editor's note: APD has revised its statement on Geraci not showing up for work Wednesday, correcting an initial press release which said she called in sick.
