Anchorage police are looking for a 33-year-old Fairbanks woman who traveled to town last week and was last heard from in Spenard the day after she arrived.
APD spokesperson Lt. Dave Parker says Mary Ann Alexie had come to Anchorage to attend the Alaska Career College, arriving in town at about noon on Oct. 9, but she never contacted the college.
Friends tell police they last spoke with Alexie by phone at about 3 a.m. the next day.
“In that conversation she told them that she was in Spenard and didn’t know where to go,” Parker wrote in a Friday statement.
Anyone with information on Alexie’s whereabouts is asked to call APD at 786-8900.
Editor's note: The spelling of Mary Ann Alexie's middle name has been corrected after different versions appeared in an initial APD press release.
