APD Search for Pickup in Theft

The Anchorage Police Department has released a picture of a pickup truck connected with the theft of a giant wooden carving of an eagle.

On May 20th, APD said the people inside the pickup stole a large wooden eagle carving and a Stihl chainsaw from the bed of another truck parked at the Lowes home improvement store in South Anchorage.

On Monday night, police recovered the eagle carving and held it in evidence for a day.

On Wednesday morning, the carving was returned it to its sculptor Jordan Anderson. It's valued at $2,000.

Police say the chainsaw remains missing.

The truck spotted on surveillance video is described as an emerald green club cab pickup truck, possibly a Chevy or GMC, with a hard cover over the bed.
