On Tuesday morning, Anchorage police said it is turning to the public for help in solving the deadly shooting outside Platinum Jaxx, a downtown nightclub, over the weekend.
The Sunday morning shooting killed 27-year-old Said Beshirov, of Anchorage, and police said it does not believe this crime was related to a stabbing that happened outside another downtown bar around the same time.
Detectives said they were searching for occupants in two vehicles, a white Jeep Cherokee and a red Dodge, four-door half-ton pickup truck, that were spotted near the area of 901 West 6th Avenue.
Police made no arrests Monday and said in an email that “the search for privately recorded video has been fruitful.”
Anyone who took video or photos outside of Platinum Jaxx around the time of the shooting are asked to contact police at 786-8900. Police said “any photos or video of individuals in the crowd or on the street would be helpful even if they do not show the actual shooting.”
