ANCHORAGE, Alaska—A Bethel woman has been arrested on one count of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a man Wednesday morning. Brenda Lee Evans, 43, was taken into custody by Bethel police Wednesday night.
According to a Bethel Police Department statement, officers responded shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday to a disturbance on the 200 block of State Highway in the home of 63-year-old Charles Beaver, who was found dead at the scene.
BPD staff responded,” police wrote in the statement. “As the investigation developed, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation was contacted and we requested crime scene assistance. ABI was able to have personnel respond and even with short notice, investigation and lab personnel arrived on the afternoon flight into Bethel.”
While the investigation continued to develop, Evans was arrested at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday and subsequently booked into the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
